Professional Duties and Responsibilities:
General:
Work closely with a number of 3rd party organisations including the monitoring of
Service Level Agreements and compliance
Drive performance and stability of Enterprise Application Integration supported
applications through a structured support model and adherence to system change
management policies and procedures
Ensure the integrity of data capture, transfer and interface mechanisms such that they
conform to current best practice.
Maintain good communications with other areas of the ICT Department
Contribute to tendering exercises for new projects requiring integration wen required

Play an active role in the transfer of the services to the new National Paediatric Hospital
Migration, Integration, Development & Interoperability:
Conduct on site analysis of legacy systems and databases with the goal of participating
in and producing Data Mapping / Processes and performing ETL functionality
Perform day to day monitoring, trouble-shooting, configuration and support of the
hospitals current production interface environment and potential future environments
Develop a deep understanding of disparate data sources and know how, when and
which data to use to solve a particular integration / migration requests or requirements
Work under the direction of the Manager to provide integration solutions for assigned
business areas both internal and external to the organisation
Documentation of workflows required to meet deliverables and maintain integration
requirements, technical and support documentation
Provide work estimates to managers and project managers as requested based on
requirements gathered
Translate business requirements and uses cases into functional and technical
specifications and requirements documents for new products, new product features or
functionality
Participate in or lead System Integration, migration and User Acceptance Testing,
documenting processes and plans accordingly
Work with Development, QA, Vendor professional services, and technical operations
during design and implementation phases, developing test plans and assisting in
deployments where required
Provides post-implementation and on-going interoperability support to the ICT
department and operations
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and accurately document interoperability problems and their
probable causes. Identify root/cause, test, and implement solutions
To ensure data quality in all information products, interfaces and data migration activity
delivered
Production of integration or migration technical and support documentation for use
within the general ICT department and provide training and demonstrations where
required
Provide development support for existing bespoke applications
Update knowledge and skills on a consistent and continuous basis to ensure that
methods of work and work practices are in line with the systematic changes taking
place
Project Management:
Assists the Project Manager in developing the technical solution that meets the
requirements of the integration and migration projects
Work with the projects manager to develop work plans and schedules for interface and
migration projects along with management of specific project plans
Participate in development planning sessions, weekly team status meetings and
create/update appropriate project management documentation as required

Education / Knowledge:
To maintain a high level of competence in the technical/analytical field through
continued training, education research, publications, documentation and seminars.
Be willing and able to expand one’s knowledge in the area of Systems Integration and
migration with a view to strengthening the ICT Integration, Migration, Services and
Support
Other:
To partake in other ad-hoc duties within the ICT Department which may arise from time
to time and participate in general ICT duties during the opening of the New Children’s
Hospital.
There may be a requirement from time to time to attend the hospital(s) outside of
normal office hours to engage with project go-lives and specific issues related to
operational systems.

other clinical and non-clinical digital systems;
Maintain regular communication with other application teams and relevant
supplier staff;

Eligibility
criteria,
qualifications
and experience
Essential Criteria:
A third level degree/post-graduate qualification in a relevant discipline such as
Health Information Systems, Information Technology or Interoperability plus a
minimum of 3 years post qualification experience in a relevant and similar role
OR
7+ years’ experience in a relevant and similar role
Plus:
Experience in systems integration using Integration Engines such as Rhapsody,
Cloverleaf, Ensemble or others
Demonstrated working knowledge of databases, SQL scripting and stored
procedures
Demonstrated working knowledge of software development lifecycles
Experience in software development in languages such as c#, php and JavaScript
Demonstrated working knowledge of some or all of the following: IHE, CDA, XDS,
HL7, Web Services, APIs and data integration & Interoperability
Demonstrated experience in providing application support and an understanding
of application support methodologies including the development of
documentation, policies and procedures, test scripts and scenarios
Experience in developing and maintaining relationships with multiple key internal
projects, operations and external technology vendor stakeholders
Demonstrated ability to analyze, troubleshoot, solve problems, establish priorities
effectively and liaison with internal and external parties to resolve issues
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated ability to work as an individual as well as harmoniously within a
team, sharing information and responsibilities
Desirable Criteria:
3+ years’ experience in a healthcare environment
2+ years’ experience developing in and supporting an industry standard
Integration Engine
Experience developing / supporting real-time business critical interfaces
Experience in integrating both clinical and non-clinical systems
Experience in consuming and working with APIs
Experience with Data Migration and Migration tools
Experience designing, writing and deploying ETL solutions
