  Requirements:

  • QQI Level 5 qualification in healthcare or a relevant field (Full award)
  • Experience of working with children/adults in the field of intellectual disability
  • Full manual driving licence and access to your own transport.
  • A degree of flexibility and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • A genuine passion for supporting individuals with disabilities and helping them maximise their quality of life.

 

·         ­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­Key Responsibilities

  • Provide daily personal care and support (dressing, hygiene, toileting, etc.).
  • Support service users in leisure, work, and daily living activities, encouraging community participation.
  • Monitor and report on service users’ physical, social, and emotional wellbeing.
  • Assist in implementing individual care programmes, including for those with challenging behaviour.
  • Accompany and transport service users to and from services, outings, and appointments.
  • Participate in supporting service users during holidays, hospital stays, or therapy sessions (including pool use if required).
  • Maintain accurate records and reports.
  • Keep all areas clean, safe, and comfortable.
  • Help train and support new staff
  • Use all equipment and aids safely and correctly.
  • Report and record all accidents, incidents, and faulty equipment.
  • Follow safety policies and legal obligations under the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005.
  • Be familiar with emergency procedures and ensure fire safety measures are upheld.
