Job Summary

















Tooling
Engineer for new and refurbishment medical tooling programs. This person will help quote and select
Vendors for tool build then provide knowledgeable input to the design, track
mold build, and procure measurement fixtures.
In addition, this person will be responsible for Factory Acceptance
Testing (FAT)/T0 and tune the mold to meet the specifications of the part
print. Transitioning the mold to
production is to be smooth and thorough.






















Knowledge | Experience | Skills 


Minimum
of 2 years’ experience in plastics industry with emphasis on Medical Molding
and mold design improvement. Injection
molding process knowledge, Mechanical aptitude, leadership, and Project
Management skills are required along with good communication, interpersonal,
and computer skills. Two-year degree
in an Engineering field is preferred.
A four-year Degree is a plus but ability to understand and improve
mold and part prints is paramount.






Essential Duties & Responsibilities



    • Primary responsibility
      will be to manage the build and tuning of Medical Molds (through
      Design, IQ, OQ, PQ) and therefore good documentation practices are
      required.

    • Analyze plastic part
      prints and specifications to identify issues and provide solutions.

    • Interacts and communicates
      with customers, suppliers, and operational personnel to achieve
      business opportunities and assist product design solutions.

    • Assists in the maintenance
      and constantly improve tooling.

    • Responsible for activity
      related to travel, appointment scheduling, and customer visits.

    • Tracks new and replacement
      tool quotations, Vendor specialty, and Vendor activity to manage Vendor
      selection

    • Oversees tool build and
      approvals to production working with customers, tool shops and site
      personnel.

    • Supports operation
      requirements with tooling and production engineering, problem
      identification, troubleshooting, resolution, and continuous improvement
      efforts.

    • Generation of improvement
      efforts and cost saving opportunities related to tooling and presents
      to management.

    • Assists sales in
      evaluating e.g., cycle times and processes.
