The Senior Project Manager maintains and reports project status, key milestones, obstacles, and achievements to leadership on a regular cadence. You will interface with analytics, teams, finance teams and business teams to deliver presentations on the project, costs, assignments, and benefits.  As a Senior Project Manager you will run project calls to take in and discuss new work, hold regular status meetings, intake progress from various teams, identify issues and assure that downstream and cross team dependencies are addressed.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead or help develop program or project scope statements, in consultation with applicable stakeholders (e.g., program / project charter, Statement of Work, Business Vision Document)
  • Work with resource managers to drive the identification of the skills, duration and effort required for successful project executiong
  • Support business needs around analytics, data analysis and business intelligence
  • Drive strategic initiatives across various units of the business from cradle to grave
  • Develop and maintain project plans, roadmaps, tasks, deliverables, dependencies and resource requirements
  • Establish / apply quality objectives, criteria, standards and levels using appropriate quality management methods, with stakeholder input (e.g., key performance indicators, scope definition)
  • Develop, communicate and implement program / project risk / issue management plans and strategies (e.g., mitigation, avoidance, transfer, acceptance)
  • Coordination and completion of projects across various functional areas, promoting an environment of innovation and collaboration
  • Monitor and control projects ensuring efficient utilisation of project resources

Required Qualifications:

  • Project management and delivery experience
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with a high attention to detail
  • Experience working within a data-driven or analytics space (including data science)
  • Demonstrated ability to perform a gap analysis with an analytical mindset, using critical thinking skills and ability to problem solve.
  • Proven ability to analyse and identify trends and issues within data
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to successfully communicate and present ideas to colleagues, clients, and senior management
  • Ability to alter communication style to interact effectively with different personalities and behaviors
  • Experience connecting diverse teams to initiate and move projects forward
  • Ability to extract clarity from ambiguous requirements/direction and create clear objectives
  • Excel experience, including the ability to manipulated data in many views, pivot tables, grids, graphs etc.
  • Skilled in work flow management processes and software (e.g. Smartsheet)
  • Proficient in PowerPoint and diagramming apps such as DrawIO

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Project Management certifications, such as PMP
  • Tableau experience (import, export data, etc)
  • Familiarity with Agile tools and terminology and/or business process management tools (e.g. Aha!, Rally)
  • LEAN/Six Sigma experience
  • Experience working in a cross-matrixed organization and effective engagement with clients
