The Partnership and Governance Manager will be responsible for the onboarding, management, oversight of network strategic and insurance partner compliance, service performance, and examine quality, effectiveness and value of the relationships. This role will coordinate across the network team and with various internal functions (across all UHCG Markets) to ensure enterprise-wide needs for due diligence, compliance audits, risk assessment and continued partnership evaluation, analyze trends and develop recommendations and action plans to address opportunities with all network partners. This role will also have a portfolio of partners to manage directly. In order to accomplish this, the individual in this role must be deeply analytical and organized, be solution-oriented and able to work cross-functionally in order to drive improvement across the partner portfolio.          

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead and be responsible for the development and maintenance of partner assessment framework to assist in the due diligence of the shortlisted partners
  • Research market entry and market optimization options and solutions to provide recommendations to the business on partnerships to support retention, growth, compliance and commercial value
  • Project manage onboarding of the selected partner in coordination with cross-functional teams (including but not limited to: product, quality, sales, client management, underwriting, claims operations, account implementation, finance, IT, marketing, communication), ask critical questions, and provide decision-making framework to complete vendor onboarding in agreed upon timeframe
  • Strategically develop and streamline vendor processes in coordination with internal functions
  • Oversee post-onboarding activities and contractual agreements to ensure IT, data privacy, and Service Level Agreement compliance are up to date and adhered
  • Perform as a functional bridge amongst external vendors as well as internal stakeholders
  • Continuously improve partner onboarding framework and processes, including handoffs between departments in partnerships with network colleagues and internal constituents
  • Responsible for the integrity and completeness of data and reporting exchanges between UHCG and vendors
  • Troubleshoot all vendor problems and present root-cause and solutions
  • Develop reports and materials to support executive meetings
  • Support marketing on communications of new vendor partnerships and changes to existing ones
  • Gather and provide competitive intelligence regarding insurance competitors vendor partnership development and changes
  • Educate and help to train internal teams on material changes relating to vendor processes impacting UHCG’s clients and members, as well as educate vendors on changes to UHCG processes that impact vendors
  • Review with finance on vendor fee/invoice accuracy and provide visibility on trends and outlook
  • Support solutions to ensure compliance in line with regulatory responsibilities across markets and partners with Head of Claims and Chief Operating Officers responsibilities of the Europe insurance entity

Functional Qualifications /Essential Criteria:

  • Extensive Partnership Management experience
  • Extensive experience in IPMI (International Private Medical Insurance)
  • Partner/Vendor management
  • Project management
  • Experience in delivering operational solutions
  • Collaboration skills to manage vendor implementation and formulate mitigation actions
  • Understanding of enterprise procurement and sourcing process and guidelines
  • Demonstrate ability to improve processes and workflows
  • Demonstrate Independent, structured and critical thinking skills
  • Track record of problem-solving success in matrixed organization
  • Eagerness to build towards operational efficiency, even if that means changing the status quo
  • Demonstrate analytical ability to aggregate and synthesize data and information, turning into relevant reports with recommendations or actions
  • Detail oriented nature with contract and project implementations
  • External and internal stakeholder relationship and expectation management
  • Proven presentation (written, verbal, EQ) skills
  • Understanding of insurance products, plans, processes and programs
  • Understanding of network ecosystem and structures
  • Demonstrate understanding of competitor landscape within market (e.g. competitors vendor relationships/movement to provide medical and ancillary services)
