Intern – Acturarial

About the Internship  
 

As an Actuarial Analyst Intern, you will work within the Ireland Optum Actuarial ecosystem and will partner with members of both Optum Advisory Services (OAS) and Risk and Quality (RQ) teams. You will encounter great opportunities to enhance and develop your skills through some or all the following activities:

• Initiating, compiling and preparing analytical models, tools and databases
• Assisting in the development of actuarial data architecture and assumption setting
• Conducting and documenting moderately complex analysis and research
• Preparing, forecasting, and analyzing trends
• Providing detailed summaries, reports and recommendations to assist managerial decision making
• Maintaining the necessary communication and coordination with colleagues, stakeholders, and clients in multiple locations

Required Qualifications/Skills:

• Completed second year of a degree in Actuarial Mathematics or Financial Mathematics
• Exposure to one or more of the following tools: Excel, R, Python or SQL
• Good communication skills
• The ability to work a portion of monthly work hours from our Dublin office is required.
