Main Purpose:

You will be helping to deliver state-of-the-art smart antenna design, standard & custom antenna integration and design projects as well as help with R&D functions within the group. Also you will be responsible for design and test of RF circuitry for radio products, active antennas and antenna systems.

Reporting to: Team Leader

Responsibilities:

• To design and develop antennas mainly from (but not limited to) 100MHz to 6GHz.
• Ability to design and develop antennas for mmWave application.
• Knowledge in communication standards such as CDMA, GSM/GPRS, UMTS, HSPA, LTE, EDVO, WIFI, GPS, EDGE, 5G, UWB, GNSS and others.
• To create and/or approve antenna specifications.
• Work with VNA’s, Far Field anechoic chamber, spectrum analyzer and other RF equipment.
• Work with Sales, R&D, Management, Production, Mechanical, Noise Control departments.
• To solve and support certification issues on wireless devices with customers.
• To suggest improved PCB layouts to help customers improve RF performance.
• Ability to coordinate projects from initial customer meetings all the way to pilot production runs, including assisting in QC documentation, test standards, etc.
• Knowledge of design of RF subsystems, such as LNAs, filters, diplexers, power amplifiers etc.

Technical direction and mentoring

• Mentor others in antenna design, antenna & device testing, design for test and design for manufacturability
• Assist sales with estimates of scope for quoting new work
• Support sales in customer meetings both virtual and in person, including travel to customer and trade-show venues

Antenna Design & Integration

• Creation of new product concepts and implementations
• Design of electrically small single and multi-band antennas from 100MHz to 6GHz
• EM simulation and physical modelling of antennas separately and in customer products
• Performance testing of new, existing and competitive antenna products
• Preparation of specification and datasheet data

Device Engineering

• Perform antenna and radio device performance testing
• Assist sales with basic customer technical support issues
• Coordinate testing with customer’s engineering resources
• Help customers with antenna integration and device certification issues
• Coordinate with customer’s engineering resources to mitigate issues found

Qualifications/Skills:

• 3rd Level Education
• 4+ years’ experience in Antenna Industry
• BSEE - Bachelor of Science Electrical Engineering
• Small antenna design
• EM Sim (CST/ADS/HFSS etc)
• Cellular devise testing experience desirable
• Radio electronic design desirable
• Project management experience desirable
