Brampton are an upmarket nursing home based centrally within the town of Oranmore along the main street and only a 5-minute walk from Oranmore Castle. Currently, we are going through a series of thrilling developments and expansions and it is the perfect time to get involved.
Under the guidance of a qualified therapist, to provide rehabilitation to service users with an acquired brain injury (ABI) and to carryout duties supporting the smooth functioning of this new and developing service.
The Therapy Assistant will be responsible for working with the MDT team to complete daily activities.

Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
To assist Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists in providing a rehabilitation service to service users with an acquired brain injury.
To work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team; to promote rehabilitation and to support the service users to achieve their goals
To support and progress the therapy service by carrying out assigned duties.
To ensure a safe environment for both service users and staff
To contribute to the development of therapy services.
To be responsible for own clinical caseload to ensure an efficient and effective service, as directed by the therapists
To adhere to appropriate standards to maintain patient dignity and respect at all times.
To demonstrate an awareness of and ability to manage clinical risk within own caseload at all times.
To observe, monitor and record patient activity and health status as appropriate, communicating any change in condition to relevant team members.
To use own clinical judgment, analytical skills and knowledge to make suggestions and/or minor modifications to treatment programmes.
To lead or co-facilitate in group interventions, as directed by qualified therapist.
To be responsible for maintaining accurate written records using electronic patient record system.
To be competent in the use and maintenance of all equipment used and to report defects in equipment in a timely manner.
To adhere to the infection control policy in regards to the cleaning of equipment and clinical areas
Job Requirements:
QQI level 5 in Health Service Skills (or equivalent).
Previous experience in a health or social care setting (or equivalent) in a care/ facilitation/ support role
Experience of working in a team
Proficient Numeracy and literacy as well as the ability to speak English fluently.
Demonstrates a knowledge of the role of Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy Demonstrates understanding of rehabilitation
Desired Requirements:
Previous Occupational Therapy Assistant/ Physiotherapy Assistant/Rehab Assistant or Healthcare Assistant experience
Experience of running exercise groups
Basic understanding of commonly used therapy and/or medical terms
Knowledge of acquired brain injury
Training and Development:
To keep a record of own training and development.
