The Role & What You Will Be Doing

Every day, we rise to the challenge to make a difference and here’s how the Director Global Warehousing & Distributionrole will make an impact:

  • Key member in developing the Global Logistics Centre of Excellence.
  • Oversight, Management and Planning of the operations at our Global Warehousing and Distribution Facility, ensuring inventory is managed through the facility in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
  • Understand global warehousing footprint, ensure network is efficient and robust. Implement warehousing standards and procedures across the network.
  • Set up and drive a Community of Practice across SC warehousing facilities, supporting markets in their efforts to manage their operations more efficiently.
  • Working closely with Commercial Supply Chain and Vertical Supply Chain teams to support the organization in all matters relating to Warehousing Operations Throughput.    
  • With the Global Inventory team, ensure inventory values and related activities are managed in an efficient and optimal manner. This includes Budget planning, write-offs, inventory control, and system optimization.  
  • Together with Procurement and other key functions, ensure contract with third party warehousing partners are appropriate for our requirements. Drive RFP and selection of partners adhering to Viatris standards and procedures.
  • Deliver and grow project management capability & simplification initiatives through continuous improvement and lean methodology deployment.  Organize and manage project delivery including monitoring, analyzing, and reporting on program tasks and milestones.
  • Participate in Global Warehousing Partner selection and ongoing performance. Facilitate reviews and communicate and adapt to meet business needs. Plan, manage and direct the daily interactions to ensure tracking, reporting, claims, among other tasks, are being performed efficient and effectively.
  • Oversee and support monthly financial reporting and yearly budgeting processes related    to Global Warehousing OPEX (Distribution & Freight)
  • Partner with finance to deliver transparency on all financial bookings impacting assigned Distribution and Warehousing costs.
  • Build solution for quarterly assigned Distribution and Warehousing forecasts
  • Partner with Markets and Vertical Operations to provide expertise in the field of selection of Warehousing partners, Performance overview and cost management

About Your Skills & Experience

For this role, we’re looking for a candidate who has an effective combination of the following qualifications, skills and experiences:

  • Distribution, Warehouse Management experience at global or regional level
  • Project management and analytical experience are essential
  • Evidence of People management is preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in supply chain management
  • Sound knowledge of material and project planning, business case development, and contract management.
