The Role & What You Will Be Doing

Member of the Engineering Team responsible for assembly, packaging, Inspection, and serialization equipment in Casla. The Packaging Engineering Supervisor will be responsible for the effective and efficient operation of the Casla Packaging Engineering department, and the technical support for all plant and equipment within packaging. The role requires a specific commitment to the packaging areas, in relation to achieving and maintaining optimum levels of safety, output and quality.

  • Supervise the packaging engineering team day to day operations to meet equipment OEE targets.

  • Planning and project management of new product and equipment introductions.

  • Maintain packaging standards to meet customer requirements.

  • Manage packaging engineering changes to meet customer requirements and optimize line OEE.

  • Generate Packaging specifications compliant to FDA, HPRA, ISO and other relevant regulations.

  • Troubleshoot packaging processes and recommended improvements to streamline productivity output.

  • Manage equipment installations and commissioning activities to ensure completion and start up per plan.

  • Initiate engineering change controls, impact assessments and incident investigations associated with packaging.

  • Managing internal queries and communications including escalations from operations and other departments for support when required.

  • Implementation of engineering strategy including corrective, design-out and preventive maintenance.

  • Generation and circulation of daily engineering reports.

  • Leading by example by following best practices and compliance to Engineering, EHS, Quality and GMP.

  • Ensure compliance with engineering administration procedures including SAP entries for planned and unplanned works and Line setup up and changeovers.

  • Support in the induction, development and training of new technicians.

  • Taking the lead on engineering projects while following internal procedures and guidelines.

  • Organize and supervise contractors when applicable.

About Your Skills & Experience

For this role, we’re looking for a candidate who has an effective combination of the following qualifications, skills and experiences:

  • Third level qualification to Engineering Degree.

  • Experience in an engineering/packaging role preferably within the pharmaceutical industry. However, a combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration.

  • A working knowledge within a cGMP regulated environment, FDA, HPRA and familiar with visual inspection, packaging and serialisation processes.

  • Familiar with packaging and equipment automation.

  • Good Interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Conflict management / Negotiation.

  • Structured decision making.

  • Computer literacy (Word, Excel, PM systems).

  • Report preparation & presentation.    

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.

  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to build Team working environment.
