The Engineering Project Manager - Permanent Contract opportunity

The Engineering Project Manager reporting to the Project Engineering Lead - will assist the Lead in short and long range planning, owns a portfolio of Projects from inception, scoping through to execution and close out as well as of the execution of associated Capex process activities and works.   Assist in developing project structures with associated metrics/reporting capabilities as a site project team so as to ensure a consistent implementation of works from concept through to handover and close out.   Build relationships and networks with local SME’s and key Department owners/area leads as well as above site Global teams so as to support the Capex programme for the Biologics plant here in Dundalk .   Manage designated site Capital planning programme elements – including the annual programme of Works, the site capacity plans and the Long Range Capex forecast. Actively demonstrate an operational excellence and continuous improvement focussed mind-set within the Capex team.

Your Responsibilities

• Assist to deliver key strategic capital investments by directly managing a portfolio of capital projects for the WuXi Biologics site in Dundalk.
• Responsible for oversight and of site and global project execution resources, both staff and contractor.
• Maintain WuXI Dundalk’s long-range capital plan in alignment with the strategic plan and site capacity master plans.
• Provide functional expertise for WuXi’s CDMO programs ensuring timely execution in accordance with client based project expectations and deliverables
• Support and build WuXi’s capital project management processes in conjunction with industry best practises, applicable guidlelines and regulations to optimise the site Program Management office.
• Document and build the necessary site project procedural standards and controls to govern Capital Projects’ execution.
• Provide functional expertise to deliver project solutions for WuXi’s improvement programs via enhancements including initiatives to optimise reliability, availability and uptime as well as Quality and cost drivers.
• Provide functional expertise for WuXi’s internal site to site technical transfer initiatives requiring capital improvements and investment.
• Ensure that Project scopes are excuted in a manner that is compliant with program milestones, Quality/Safety standards and budget plans. Escalates appropriately in case of unforeseen variation and suggests potential needed mitigation measures
• Ensures effective technical clarity and process coordination with all project stakeholders.
• Helps to establish the site’s project programme through a structured programme of stage gates, evaluation and business reviews in order to ensure optimium usage of WuXi’s capital resources – financial and personnel.
• Supports the site’s capital reporting through proper planning forecasting w.r.t. spend, schedule and resources at the individual projects and portfolio level.
• Drives to a high standard of Quality and Safety at all stages within the project life cycle in order to ensure Zero Compliance and Safety observations.
• Perform all duties in accordance with GMP requirements, SOPs and controlled documents.
• Will be flexible to take on additional tasks and responsibilities at the discretion of the Engineering Projects Lead
• Will act as a role model for the Project function and also the wider organisation in adherence to the WuXi corporate core values and PROUD culture.

Your Profile

The ideal candidate for this position, will have the following:

Education

• BSc. degree in an Engineering discipline is preferred
• A postgraduate qualification in a relevant area of expertise (e.g. Business administration, project management) would be advantageous.

Knowledge/Experience:

Required:

• Proven track record of successful management of project portfolio within an operational environment
• Knowledge of safety, Quality and environmental regulatory requirements to execute projects in a GMP facility.
• A proven track record of delivering continuous improvement and value across multiple process streams   and customers
• Understand the multiple stages within the Project life cycle and the deliverables for same.
• Strong track record in execution of projects – on time, within budget to meet customer & end users  needs.

Preferred:

• Previous experience in the engineering section of a Project Management Service Provider for the sustaining site works would be advantageous.
