Job Description:
The successful candidate will conduct research on the molecular physiology of ion channels and neural signaling. She or he will be the lead postdoctoral researcher responsible for the day-to-day coordination and management of the study, including performing wet-lab experiments, presentation of her or his data in international meetings, writing detailed reports and publication in peer-reviewed journals as appropriate.
Duties:
- Perform all the principal aspects of the laboratory work associated with the project.
- Provide intellectual input into the research and wider technology development.
- Disseminate the project’s outputs through presentations / reports and peer-reviewed journal publications as appropriate
- Carry out other appropriate and relevant duties under the direction of the Principal Investigator.
Qualifications/Skills required:
Essential Criteria:
- PhD in neuroscience, electrophysiology, or related area with excellent communication, record keeping and organizational skills
- Evidence of expertise in molecular biology particularly the optimization of mammalian expression systems, cloning and characterization.
- Evidence of experience in cellular ion channel physiology (in one of the following areas Patch clamp, extracellular recording or microelectrode array technologies)
- Evidence of expertise in live cell imaging
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience in immunofluorescence, confocal microscopy, single cell transcriptomics.
