Live Register Sees Slight Increase in July 2025

The seasonally adjusted Live Register total for July 2025 was 169,600 people, representing a rise of 1,100 or 0.7% compared to June 2025.

On an unadjusted basis, the figure quoted by the Central Statistics Office stood at 185,627, with 52% male and 73% Irish. The 25–34 age group accounted for the largest share, at 44,446 people (23.9% of the total).

Over the past year, Dublin (+5.6%) and Kildare (+2.8%) recorded the biggest percentage increases, while the largest decreases were in Kerry (-13.7%) and Clare (-9.5%).

Short-term claimants (less than one year) numbered 129,347 in July 2025, up 7,238 people (+5.6%) from July 2024.
