Salary: €40,000– €45,000 DOE

 

The Role

 

We are seeking a dedicated Social Care Team Leader to support the delivery of high‑quality, person‑centered care within a micro‑residential service for individuals with complex support needs.

In this leadership role, you will support the Centre Manager with the day‑to‑day running of the service, ensuring best practice in line with HIQA/MHC regulations, and fostering a safe, empowering, and therapeutic environment.

You will work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team (MDT) and play a key role in supporting staff, coordinating care, and maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Support the Social Care Manager in daily operational management including:
  • Staff rostering
  • Monitoring center budgets
  • Completing daily/weekly compliance checklists
  • Support the Centre Manager with audits, incident reviews, and quality‑improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure full compliance with HIQA/MHC standards, safeguarding policies, and legislative requirements.
  • Lead, supervise, coach, and support care and administrative staff.
  • Oversee personalised support plans to ensure individual needs, rights, and choices are central to care delivery.
  • Build strong, collaborative relationships with families, advocates, MDT members, and external agencies.
  • Maintain high standards in safety, health, infection control, and GDPR and data management.
  • Promote a culture of respect, professionalism, empowerment, and continuous improvement.

Essential Requirements

We are seeking motivated, compassionate, and professional Team Leaders who are committed to delivering high-quality residential care.

The ideal candidate is expected to have:

 

  • Level 7 preferred; Level 5/6 with relevant experience considered in Social Care, Social Work, Youth Work, Teaching, Nursing, or Childcare with disability‑related modules (or another relevant discipline).
  • Hold a CORU approved Social Care Worker qualification /have applied for CORU registration (evidence of application will be necessary)
  • Proven experience working in residential services with individuals who present with complex needs.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and decision‑making skills.
  • Excellent documentation, organisational, and report‑writing skills.
  • Confidence in using IT systems and digital record‑keeping tools.
  • Understanding of best practice in residential care, safeguarding, individuals’ rights, and trauma-informed approaches.
  • Commitment to Children First (if working with children)
  • Knowledge of the Trust in Care Policy (if working with adults)
  • Successful Garda Vetting and legal right to work in Ireland.
  • Full clean driver’s licence.
  • A professional, respectful, and empathetic approach
