Nua Healthcare Little Island Day Service is a service that caters to the needs of our Service Users in our care to provide a wide range of activities aimed at a wide level of needs to aid in betterment of Service Users lives, meeting social and sensory needs, impowering service users to be independent to their level and promoting meaningful engagement in their communities in line with the HSE New Directions Policy.

 

Job Objectives

This role is based in Little Island Cork City and is Monday – Friday 9-5, with some flexibility required. The role will involve the support worker working closely with service users and their support staff aiding with the activities of the day and supporting as required. They will also facilitate community engagement opportunities and aiding in the general upkeep on the centre. The staff will be supported by the Team Leader onsite.

Skills Requirement

  • Creativity skills
  • Group facilitation (preferred but not essential)
  • Ability to work with a wide range of disability needs/levels
  • IT skills
  • Level 5 or above in any area but preferably in Social Care or Healthcare.
  • Relevant life experience would be an advantage
  • Full Clean Driver’s is required

As part of the wider Nua Healthcare service all staff are required to:

  • To use company IT systems as instructed and to never share your passwords with another or do anything likely to result in the unutilised disclosure of company and or personal data as defined under the General Data Protects Regulations (GDPR).
  • To report any concerns for the safety of our service users and residents to your line manager and or other manager within Nua for appropriate address in-line with company policy.
  • To act responsibly, at all-times, and to co-operate with our regulators in the very best interests of our service and the people who use them.
  • To maintain the highest level of infection control standards as directed by company policy and national best practice guidance in the utmost interests for the Safety, Health and welfare for yourself, your colleagues, our service users and residents and any other persons in so far as is reasonable and practicable.
