What you will be doing:
Assume overall responsibility for the successful initiation, planning, design, execution, monitoring, controlling and closure of bringing new products to the market place. The Sr. Project Manager is responsible to the project stakeholders for delivering a project’s objectives within scope, schedule, cost, and quality.
Provide high quality leadership of Project Resources. Generate an engaging and positive environment. The Sr. Project Manager will be measured against milestone delivery and People performance throughout the Project lifetime.
Work with junior project managers and BU Senior Program Manager to coordinate overall program and portfolio execution.
Lead team in complex or difficult situations, removing obstacles or escalating to leadership as required, assigning appropriate resources and interacting with other functions to assist with issue resolution and streamlining of work process.
Lead the team in the development of the project charter and management plan. Direct, manage, monitor, and control project. Evaluate tradeoffs within project.
Establishment of priorities, imparting a sense of urgency and importance to the team while following Project Management methodology in project execution.
Meet with project stakeholders to understand and refine project scope; review with manager for approval. Create detailed Work Breakdown Structure.
Develop and manage the detailed project Gantt chart. Analyze critical path and major workstreams.
Collaborate with supervisor and/or BU Senior Program Manager to establish sub-project budget. Monitor and maintain costs within budget.
Partner with project team to create project Quality Plans using 1-2 quality planning tools and techniques. Monitor and maintain plans.
Develop a risk management plan for the project. Identify, analyze and understand project risks, develop and monitor a risk response plan.
Contribute in the development of a Procurement Management Plan and collaborate on the selection of procurement partners
Estimate, acquire and assign project team resources. Define the role, responsibility, and deliverables for each team member. Provide direct feedback to functional manager on performance reviews.
Develop a Stakeholder management plan for the project, based on the identification, analysis and understanding of Stakeholder expectations.
Develop and Execute the communications management plan for project team and the needs of key stakeholders
Participate in the selection, training and performance appraisal process of project resources. Support developing and guidance of Co-ops, Interns, Technician, Engineers, and Project Managers/Engineers as required.
Work with Marketing, Technical Lead and BU Program leadership in maintaining a cadence of Health Care Professional interactions for the program.
What you will need:
BS or equivalent STEM qualification & 8+ years of work experience.
Project Management qualification also preferred.
PMP or equivalent preferred
A background in mechanical, electrical and/or software engineering or an engineering environment is beneficial
Must have a proven track record of project execution
Previous experience in an R&D environment is beneficial
