Information &amp; Communication represented 6.7% of employment in Ireland in 2024, almost double the EU average of 3.5%.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1208\" data-end=\"1334\">This reflects the continued importance of technology, digital services, and multinational investment within the Irish economy.<\/p>\n<h6 data-section-id=\"x3jeoq\" data-start=\"1336\" data-end=\"1374\">Workforce Demographics Are Changing<\/h6>\n<p data-start=\"1376\" data-end=\"1471\">The CSO report shows Ireland\u2019s workforce is continuing to evolve as demographic patterns shift.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1473\" data-end=\"1574\">Workers aged 55 and over represented 20% of the labour force in late 2025, compared with 10% in 2000.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1576\" data-end=\"1715\">The findings suggest that ageing population trends may increasingly affect future labour supply and workforce planning across many sectors.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1717\" data-end=\"1827\">At the same time, Ireland continues to maintain one of the highest levels of educational attainment in Europe.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1829\" data-end=\"1837\">In 2025:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1838\" data-end=\"2067\">\n<li data-section-id=\"vq7oxe\" data-start=\"1838\" data-end=\"1902\">55% of people aged 25 to 74 held a third-level qualification<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"2cg98p\" data-start=\"1903\" data-end=\"1973\">Ireland recorded the highest third-level attainment rate in the EU<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"835wkd\" data-start=\"1974\" data-end=\"2067\">Participation in lifelong learning reached 52%, significantly above the EU average of 44%<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"2069\" data-end=\"2210\">The figures underline the growing importance of upskilling, professional development, and continuous learning within Ireland\u2019s labour market.<\/p>\n<h6 data-section-id=\"1egwdbt\" data-start=\"2212\" data-end=\"2240\">Earnings Continue to Rise<\/h6>\n<p data-start=\"2242\" data-end=\"2357\">Median weekly earnings across all sectors increased by 22.1% between 2019 and 2024, rising from \u20ac598.36 to \u20ac730.89.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2359\" data-end=\"2529\">The report also highlights the significant contribution of multinational enterprises to earnings across key industries, particularly in technology and financial services.<\/p>\n<h6 data-section-id=\"1fvghaf\" data-start=\"2531\" data-end=\"2576\">Gender Balance Still a Key Workplace Issue<\/h6>\n<p data-start=\"2578\" data-end=\"2673\">The CSO findings show gradual progress in gender representation within senior leadership roles.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2675\" data-end=\"2919\">Women accounted for 32% of senior executives in Ireland in 2025.
