Ireland has solidified its position as a leader in flexible work arrangements, topping all of Europe for the availability of remote jobs. According to new research from LinkedIn, as reported by RT\u00c9 News, a significant portion of the country’s job market now offers non-traditional work options, setting it apart from its European peers.<\/p>\n
The data indicates that 9.4% of all job postings in Ireland offer remote work options, which is almost double the European average of 5.2%. This trend places Ireland at the forefront of the shift towards a more distributed workforce.<\/p>\n
Furthermore, Ireland ranks second across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) for the availability of hybrid roles. With 36.3% of all advertised positions offering some form of flexible arrangement, Ireland surpasses the European average of 31.3% by more than five percentage points.<\/p>\n
While flexible work is becoming more common, the research also highlights a “remote work mismatch.” The data shows a ratio of 2.1, meaning that for every single remote job posting, there are more than twice the number of applications compared to traditional, on-site positions. The research also provides a broader view of Ireland’s labour market, revealing it to be one of the tightest in Europe. With 3.4 jobs available for every 10 job seekers, Ireland ranks third in Europe behind Germany and the Netherlands, underscoring a competitive environment for talent.<\/p>\n
