The landscape of Irish employment has seen shifts in 2025, as revealed by the latest rankings of Ireland\u2019s Best Employers<\/em>. Topping the list for the first time is Apple, scoring an impressive 8.30, leaping from 24th place last year. The tech giant\u2019s continued investment in Cork and expanding hardware operations across the country appear to have paid off, both in reputation and employee satisfaction.<\/p>\n

A Strong Showing for the Public and Non-Profit Sectors<\/h6>\n

In second place, with a score of 8.22, is the Irish Wheelchair Association, up from fourth last year. This recognition underscores the organisation’s unwavering commitment to inclusion, staff development, and community impact. Public utility company Electric Supply Board (ESB) also made a dramatic climb, from 26th to third place,with a score of 8.21, reflecting its push towards renewable energy and sustainable infrastructure.<\/p>\n

Pharma and Aviation Rebound<\/h6>\n

Alexion Pharmaceutical, part of AstraZeneca, claimed the fourth spot with 8.15, rising from 17th last year. The biotech firm has become a major employer in Ireland\u2019s ever-growing life sciences sector, praised for its employee engagement and innovation culture.<\/p>\n

Also noteworthy is Aer Lingus, soaring to fifth place from a distant 72nd in 2024. With a score of 8.11, the airline\u2019s resurgence reflects a broader rebound in the aviation industry, aided by new routes, expanded fleet investments, and renewed employee engagement efforts post-pandemic.<\/p>\n

Tech and Banking Continue to Lead<\/h6>\n

eBay, maintaining a steady presence in Ireland, ranks sixth with a score of 8.10, slightly down from last year’s sixth place. Meanwhile, Bank of Ireland made a significant jump from 32nd to 7th, reflecting the positive impact of its digital transformation strategy and flexible work policies.<\/p>\n

Retail, Transport, and Construction Round Out the Top 10<\/h6>\n

Homestore+More holds steady in eighth place, showing the enduring appeal of Irish retail brands focused on strong workplace culture. Bus \u00c9ireann, climbing to ninth, continues to modernise its fleet and invest in staff training, key factors in its high score of 8.04.<\/p>\n

Rounding out the top 10 is Coffey, the Galway-based construction group, with a score of 8.01. Though dropping from fifth last year, Coffey remains one of the most respected employers in the construction sector, known for its employee development programs and focus on sustainability.<\/p>\n
