In the third quarter of 2024,\u00a0 75.3% of people aged 15-64 were employed,\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rte.ie\/news\/business\/2024\/1120\/1481988-cso-labour-force-figures\/\">RTE<\/a> reports that this is &#8220;the highest rate recorded since the series began in 1998&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p data-sourcepos=\"5:1-5:168\">The strong employment figures are accompanied by a decrease in the unemployment rate to 4.5%.<\/p>\n<p data-sourcepos=\"5:1-5:168\">The survey has also revealed a significant milestone in Irish youth employment. In Q3 2024, over half of young people aged 15-24 were in employment, marking the highest level since Q4 2008.<\/p>\n<p data-sourcepos=\"5:1-5:168\"><strong>Bronagh Cotter, CEO of Recruit.ie, commented on the record-breaking employment figures:<\/strong> &#8220;These latest figures are a testament to the resilience of the Irish economy. It&#8217;s wonderful to see such strong employment growth, particularly among young people.
