{"id":6013,"date":"2024-08-06T12:48:31","date_gmt":"2024-08-06T12:48:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.recruit.ie\/careers\/?p=6013"},"modified":"2024-08-06T12:49:34","modified_gmt":"2024-08-06T12:49:34","slug":"unemployment-rate-rises-in-july-2024","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.recruit.ie\/careers\/unemployment-rate-rises-in-july-2024\/","title":{"rendered":"Unemployment Rate Rises in July 2024"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In July 2024, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate rose to 4.7%, up from 4.5% in June 2024 and from 4.3% in July 2023, according to the latest figures from the <b>Central Statistics Office (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cso.ie\/en\/\">CSO<\/a>)<\/b> \u00a0This increase reflects shifts in the job market affecting various demographics.<\/p>\n<h6>Breakdown by Gender<\/h6>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Males<\/strong>: The unemployment rate for men increased to 4.7% in July 2024, up from 4.5% in both June 2024 and July 2023.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Females<\/strong>: Women&#8217;s unemployment rate rose more sharply to 4.8% in July 2024, from 4.5% in June 2024 and 4.1% in July 2023.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h6>Age Group Insights<\/h6>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Youth Unemployment (15-24 years)<\/strong>: This group saw a significant rise in unemployment, reaching 11.4% in July 2024, up from 10.4% in June 2024.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Adults (25-74 years)<\/strong>: The unemployment rate for this age bracket increased slightly to 3.7% in July 2024, from 3.6% in June 2024.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&#8220;In light of the rising unemployment rates, especially among youth and women, our mission at Recruit.ie becomes even more critical.
