{"id":5827,"date":"2024-06-10T11:03:15","date_gmt":"2024-06-10T11:03:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.recruit.ie\/careers\/?p=5827"},"modified":"2024-06-10T13:53:54","modified_gmt":"2024-06-10T13:53:54","slug":"monthly-unemployment-may-2024","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.recruit.ie\/careers\/monthly-unemployment-may-2024\/","title":{"rendered":"Monthly Unemployment May 2024"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"int-pub-header\">\n<div class=\"int-pub-headline-block\">\n<p>The Central Statistics Office (CSO) has issued Monthly Unemployment Estimates results for May 2024.<\/p>\n<p>Commenting on today\u2019s release, Conor Delves, Statistician in the Labour Market Analysis Section, said:\u00a0<em>\u201c<\/em><em>The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for May 2024 (for all people aged 15-74 years)\u00a0was 4.0%, the same as the rate recorded in April 2024 and down from 4.2% in May 2023. In May 2024, the unemployment rate for males was 3.8%, and 4.1% for females.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>The seasonally adjusted number of people unemployed was 111,700 in May 2024, compared with 111,800 in April 2024. There was a decrease of 3,700 in the seasonally adjusted number of people unemployed in May 2024 when compared with a year earlier.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>The seasonally adjusted number of unemployed males stayed the same at 56,600<\/em>\u00a0<em>in May 2024, compared with April 2024.\u00a0<\/em><em>The seasonally adjusted number of unemployed females in May 2024 also remained unchanged from April 2024 at 55,100.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"release-key-findings\">\n<h3 class=\"pub-findings-header\">Key Findings<\/h3>\n<ul class=\"pub-findings-list\">\n<li>In May 2024, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 4.0%, which was the same as the revised April 2024 rate.
