Now that you’ve set your goals in Week 1, it’s time to focus on building a personal brand that reflects who you are, what you offer, and where you’re headed professionally.
What is a personal brand?
Your personal brand is how you present yourself to potential employers. It’s the impression you leave behind — in your CV, online profiles, and in-person conversations. It tells people what you stand for, what you’re skilled at, and what makes you unique.
This Week’s Focus:
1. Update Your LinkedIn Profile
- Add a professional headline that reflects your current goals.
- Write a short, engaging “About” section with key skills and achievements.
- Upload a clear, professional profile photo.
- Connect with people in your industry and start building your network.
2. Review and Polish Your CV
- Tailor your CV to your career objectives and the types of roles you’ll be targeting at Jobs Expo Galway.
- Use clear, concise language.
- Highlight results and achievements rather than just responsibilities.
3. Consider a Personal Website or Online Portfolio
If you’re in a creative, tech, or freelance field, having an online space where employers can see your work is a big plus.
4. Start Posting or Sharing Industry-Relevant Content
Engaging with content on LinkedIn shows you’re informed and involved. Share articles, comment thoughtfully, or write a short post about your career journey or professional interests.
This Week’s Tip:
“Employers aren’t just hiring skills. They’re hiring people. Show them who you are and how you think.”
Stay tuned for Week 3, where we’ll dive into Researching Employers and Industry Trends — a vital step in making strong connections on the day.
